I graduated with a B.A in English from the University of Virginia and seven years later from the College of William and Mary with a master’s degree in Education (including an emphasis on the teaching of English). I taught all the high school grades in public schools at a time when the school year in English classes was divided into an entire semester of grammar and one of literature. With additional qualifying classes I then became a librarian at the intermediate, junior high and high school levels.
My first book, The Turquoise Caboose, was a series of letters to my daughter when she was one year old, to allow her to know her own life at that age. Following this, I wrote considerable poetry at the same time that I was writing the six novels of Across The Mistercald. My second daughter, Meri, became the main character in these adventures. I am now writing more poetry and a book of letters about science.
I expect that Meri will eventually re-visit The Lands.
